HBO "DEADWOOD" 2004 [Prospector] HBO western takes place in 1876 Deadwood, South Dakota. will air in March 2004 on HBO. Continued work on Deadwood in 2005.
"Ten Most Wanted Outlaws of the Wild West" airs on the Discovery Channel on July 10, 2003
Joe Dawson is the Horse Wrangler for this Discovery Channel production.
Captured BLM wild horses were some of the horses Joe Dawson used on this production
and heavy gun fire was used at times in the scenes which proves that captured wild adopted
horses can be just as calm as back yard raised domestic horses.
This is Tiburcio Vasquez's horse Red (also a captured mustang)
used in the scenes for the mexican outlaw.

Other Skills:
Cattle drive experience and years of ranch work in Taos, New Mexico. Worked cattle at the H Cattle Company ranches. Also has roped steers as a header and a heeler roper. Is familiar with firearms modern and antique, also served as a drill sergeant in the U.S. Army. Has operated all types of equipment including tractor backhoes and bulldozers. Has completed live bull riding training at Gary Leffew bullriding school and has handled mountain lions and an african lion in two feature films. Adopts and trains captured wild mustang horses from the Colorado BLM and uses some of these horses regularly. Has wrangled, ridden and coordinated horses for various television productions, commercials and has supplied horses requiring gunfire on and around these horses in a variety of scenes and conditions. Presently living in Taos, New Mexico. Trains horses to ride and raises some cattle and horses.
